GBC Life Services provides in-home care, up to 24 hours per day, customized to meet the needs of the developmentally disabled recipient and family. Along with support for daily living and recreational activities, our team offers comprehensive behavioral health services. We offer flexibility in regard to the type of services, times, and duration based upon individual requirements.
Qualifying service recipients at GBC Life Services may opt to receive daily support and supervision through our community home living. GBC operates a number of community-based homes located all across Ouachita Parish. Each home provides 24-hour care and independent life skills training for each of the 6 to 8 residents.
This program helps individuals develop employment skills and the abilities needed to secure and maintain viable employment. This is accomplished through individual and group placements in which GBC staff provides supervision and support to ensure the success of one’s employment pursuits. GBC has a number of labor contracts with local companies in which service recipients provide the majority of the labor. In addition, GBC supports a number of individuals as they work directly for local companies and industries.
GBC’s Social and Recreational Services are all about supporting people with developmental challenges to take an active part socially and recreationally in their community. Whether it is signing up for an art class, playing in our softball league, bowling, or enjoying the area’s abundant natural resources with a group, it is all about trying new things!
